In more modern versions Tiny Tim becomes the focal point because the makers use the cheap trick and our sympathy for a kid and his death to grab sentiment and usually miss the terror Scrooge sees in his own life and future.

Here we see Scrooge foresee his own cold death as a result of his own greed.
